Work Package 2. Fundamental research for development of scientific methods for tactical design and management of sustainable SCs for dairy products production taking into account environmental, economic and social impacts in the context of certain and uncertain data.
Research tasks:
T-2.1. Development of a mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of sustainable SCs for compatible production of various dairy products in order to maximize profit from production while meeting environmental, economic and social criteria.
Research goal. Creating mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of SCs for compatible production of various dairy products in order to achieve a maximum production portfolio taking into account their environmental, economic and social impacts.
Description: 1) Creating mathematical models of the economic, environmental and social impact of SCs in the context of certain data; 2) Formulation of appropriate environmental, economic and social optimization criteria; 3) Formulation and solution of the problem for the design of an optimal production portfolio for compatible production of various dairy products on example from the dairy industry, using the software packages Mathcad and GAMS.
T-2.2. Development of a mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of sustainable SCs for dairy products production in different technologies to meet the requirements of all the actors in the supply chain.
Research goal. Creation of a mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of SCs for dairy products production in different technologies in order to meet the requirements of suppliers and end users.
Description: 1) Conducting an environmental analysis of the pollutants that can be expected along the supply chain, taking into account the environmental impact of the technologies used in the production of products; 2) Creating mathematical models of the technologies used for dairy products production in the context of certain data; 3) Creating mathematical models of the economic, environmental and social impact of SCs; 4) Formulation of appropriate economic criteria to assess all actors in the supply chain; 5) Formulation and solution of a multi-objective problem for design an optimal sustainable production portfolio while simultaneously meeting the requirements of suppliers and end-users on an example from the dairy industry by using the software packages Mathcad and GAMS.
T-2.3. Development of a mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of sustainable SCs for dairy products production in order to maximize the profits from the production, taking into account their environmental, economic and social impacts in the context of uncertain data.
Research goal. Creation of a mathematical method for analysis, tactical design and management of SCs for dairy products production under uncertainties while meeting environmental, economic and social criteria.
Description: 1) Creation of mathematical model of the economic, environmental and social impacts of SCs in the context of uncertain data; 2) Formulation and solution of a problem for design an optimal production portfolio taking into account their environmental, economic and social impacts in the context of uncertain data; 3) Demonstration the effectiveness of the developed methods for design of dairy products production SCs using the software packages Mathcad and GAMS.
T-2.4. Creation of test procedures demonstrating the efficiency of the developed methods and approaches on a real case study from Bulgaria.
Research goal. Development of a test software code for realization of the results obtained in T-2.1., T-2.2. and T-2.3. for demonstration of the efficiency of the proposed methods for the tactical design of SCs for dairy products production by solution both, the problems from the literature and the real case studies from Bulgaria.
Description: 1) Creating a software platform performing the methods obtained in T-2.1., T-2.2. and T-2.3. using the software packages Mathcad and GAMS; 2) Preparation test examples with data from the available literature for each problem. Collecting real data needed for tactical design of SCs for dairy products production; 3) Numerical experiments with real data for Bulgarian case studies.
